November 28-29, 2020 Lyman Lake State Park, Arizona

High in the 40's, sunny and calm.

We woke up to dense fog and hoarfrost on everything. It was really pretty when it burnt off. View from the window of the bus. The edge of the lake when it was burning off.

Snow, frosty leaves, an a little bird I saw on the lake. Another view of the edge of the lake as the fog burn off.

Frosty things and a frosted tree.

The basket is coming along. In the afternoon the lake was mirror smooth so I boated across the lake.

I looked for new petroglyphs. Found a couple squiggles, yellow thorned prickly pear, curly grass  and one of the petroglyphs from the petroglyph trail. This cedar tree is growing out of the rock.

My view paddling back right into the sun. Backlit bushes.

The almost full moon rising over the lake. The finished masterpiece. It came really cute. 7 x 7 1/2 x 2 inches. It is made with a mix of dyed pine needles. The center is a dichroic glass face I cast and there are some glass beads.

The side of the basket. Beautiful historic downtown St John's Arizona. It is the closest town to the state park.

The Little Colorado River is dry here. John laughing evilly as he prepares the spices for turkey gumbo he is making.

Full moon rising in the sunset. The full moon got caught on our antennae as is passed over the bus.

November 27, 2020 Lyman Lake State Park, Arizona

 What??

Look what I woke up to!! I thought we left this behind in Colorado! They said there would be little or no accumulation. Black Friday is white.

This map is of the snow storms right now. The only place it is snowing is right over us. We are where the dark dot in the center-which is the most snow. Late in the afternoon we got a couple patches of sky.

There is one trailer that has two young children in it, they built this snow man today. They used dried apricots for the face. Little more blue sky. Looks like smoke signals.

We got a slight tint of sunset, but not much.

I finished this basket. It is made from natural and dyed pine needles, polyester thread, glass beads and the center is a piece of glass I fused made from old glass earrings that didn't sell. 6 1/2 x 2 inches. Love the colors.

I like the backside of this stitch better. There is a piece of suede on the back.

A close up of the center. It is dichroic glass so it flashes and changes colors as it is moved around. This is the new masterpiece I started. I will use the multicolored needles behind it. The center is a multicolored piece of dichroic glass I cast into a face mold. Should be cute.

November 25-26, 2020 Lyman Lake State Park, Arozona

58 degrees and sunny. With hardly any wind.

Sunset last night. There were no clouds so it was sort of boring, except it has the moon and the lake. The lake looked so calm today after a few windy days, so I decided to paddle around a bit.

Very smooth water. This grebe popped up in front of me.

I scared up a flock of seagulls. I paddled toward these cows on the other side of the lake. Just as a destination. They ran off, so did these coots.

Interesting rocks. You can see all the high water lines on the rocks. The lake is very low now. I saw this bird in the tree paddling back, was not sure what it was till I got closer. A raven.

The wind came up to 12 miles an hour in my face. I paddled 2 miles back in a headwind with waves. Got a good workout. Here I am sheltering in some calm water on the way back. We had a family zoom Thanksgiving get together this afternoon. Was fun to see everyone.

John smoked a turkey breast for our Thanksgiving dinner. I threw in a couple veges so we could have smoky flavor dressing too. Great clouds this evening over the lake.

More cool clouds and the moon in sunset.

Sunset was pretty spectacular tonight.
