April 27, 2024 Klamath, California

 58, cloudy and some light sprinkles. 



Warning. Bigfoots! Butter cup, clover and lupine. We hiked to Trillium falls today. A beautiful hike through old growth redwoods and a lovely waterfall. . 



Mossy rocks at the bottom of the falls. Mossy trees, we are back in rainforest.

Skunk cabbage.  Grass seeds, wood sorrel, ferns unfurling, a row of trilliums, starflower, and pacific bleeding hearts.

Davidson Creek. Fairy bells, bleeding hearts, spring beauty, salmon berry, pacific black snake root, lily of the valley, red elderberry and three cornered garlic.

April 24-26, 2024 Klamath, California

 High of 60. It was cloudy and foggy this am when we left Del Loma. We arrived at Klamath and it was still cloudy and cool, but the sun came out in the late afternoon and it was lovely.



Fog on our drive this am. We are now camped at Klamath Camper Corral in Klamath, California. we got 5 days at half price with our passport America card. 



John checking out one of the fire engines. Some one was stealing the gas out of the engines, so they moved them all here so someone could watch them. We took a short walk on the river trail. It is incredibly spring green and lush here.

Dandelion and daisies, rosemary, blackberry, thimbleberry, wild cucumber, butter cups, ribwort plantain, horse tail shoots. I finished this basket. It is made from dyed and natural pine needles, polyester thread and clay beads from Chile. The center is apiece of selenite that I shaped, sandblasted and painted the panther petroglyph on. It  is 7 x 1 3/4 inches. 



Sunset tonight on the fog rolling in. It rained all day yesterday. High of 58 yesterday and today. It only rained part of today . Elk at Prairie Creek Redwood State Park. 



We hiked Brown's creek, Rhododendron trail and South Creek trail for a total of 4 miles with 660 elevation gain and loss. Very beautiful, but wore me out. John with redwoods.

The trails were lined with trilliums, violets, false solomon's seal and ferns. Magical. Rainbow at the RV park.
