July 27-30, 2025 Fort Collins, Denver, Canon City, Colorado

 99 degrees and sunny.

Sunset. I drove down to Denver and Katy and I met Jim and Wes for dinner. Great to see them.

The next day Katy, Katie and I went to Canon City to raft with our friend Dennis.

It was cloudy, but pretty warm.

The river rocked and rolled.

Rock and just before the water hit my face!

Rolling.

Woo hoo! A storm rolled in and it rained lightly but we got a strong headwind.

Turtle rock, tiny arch and we buzzed a cormorant on a rock in the middle of the river. We took Dennis out to dinner , Katy and Katie brought a yummy cake for my birthday.

Sue, Dennis, Katie and Katy after dinner. A good time was had by all and it was fun to see Dennis. Sunset on the way home.

The next night John took me out to dinner at the French Bistro for my birthday. Yum yum.

July 21-26, 2025 Fort Collins, Colorado

Sunset. Went back to Denver for my annual Dr appointments. I was declared healthy. Drove by my old house. There is still no yard and the picket fence  and both arbors are gone. But looking into the back yard, where there was a one story run down garage there is a two story 3 car garage.  Wow.

I went with some of my old Humana coworkers to Kay's cabin in Red Feather Lakes. Usually we go out to lunch, but this time we decided to do an over night. Kay and her family spent the last 20 years building this beautiful log cabin.

Looking down from the loft. We had appetizers on the deck over looking the valley.

The view from the deck. Some of the wild flowers around the cabin.

Breakfast of French toast in the morning. Here we all are. A beautiful day at a beautiful cabin with good friends. It was fun to see them and catch up.

Downtown Red Feather Lakes. The bike path this evening on my ride along the Poudre River.

It drizzled on me on my bike ride, when I turned around to go back I saw this lovely rainbow.

I did the Artisan market today. I rented the tent and tables. All I had to do was show up, put on table cloths and set my preloaded displays up. Pretty painless. A little costly, but worth it. My booth.

Me in my booth.

July 12-20, 2025 Fort Collins, Colorado

More days in the high 90's and party sunny.

Sunset. This is in the kiln firing now. Notice that the flowers in the foreground are the murrine I have been making. This is why I have been making them, to use in other pieces.

I gave my bike a make over. The seat was shredded from riding on the back of the truck all winter, and I had it covered with a cloth bag, that was also shredded. I made a new seat cover for it. I replaced the front and rear lights   and the bell that did not work. Even got a bell that matches the bike.  Sunset tonight.

I went to Boyd Lake with my friends Katie and Katy. We kayaked on the lake , until the a strong wind came up and we beached the boats, walked back and got the car.

We then had a nice picnic lunch. I tack fused these murrine to use as basket centers.  I love the texture.

The aspen piece had bubbles in it the first time it fired, so I fired it again and tack fused a few more trees and murrine on it. It is now slumping into a wave mold. It is coming out cute. The murrine flowers worked out great. Sunset on my bike ride tonight.

I made some more cane. I loaded up the pot with purple and orange. In between is transparent yellow and blue, which should look like in the cane. What I got was this kind of sickly pale purple, green and kind of a gacky yellow. I have some firing in the kiln now to see how it looks when used in pieces.  Hopefully ok. The aspen piece is finished. It is 10 x 4 inches. I slumped it on a wave mold so it can stand by itself.  Came out cute.

I spent 5 hours loading up display, these earrings and also just as many pendants for the Artisan Sale next weekend. July 26, 10-3. Hopefully will have good sales. Rainbow during dinner on our new deck.

We watched this cloud expand while we were having dinner on the deck. It was beautiful at sunset.

I went down to Denver for the Glass Artist's of Colorado for our monthly meeting. We had a creativity workshop. We drew a name out of a hat and then we had to make it out of the discarded items we all brought, then people had to guess what it was. I made the robot. Fun  to see everyone. Sunset on my bike ride back home.
