While we were staying in Anaconda we drove to Deer Lodge to see the Territorial prison museum and the car museum.
the Anaconda stack. There used to be a copper smelter there and they tore down the building and left only the stack. The rest are the prison museum. Me and my new friend
John locked up. The side of the prison. Prisons are really depressing places. The inmates did a lot of the construction, including the rockwork in the wall and tower.
Prisoner rockwork, and Sue in jail.
Long cell block. The car museum. It was one of the biggest and best I have ever been to.
An early pop up camper and the last photo is John in front of his saloon!
Montana seat belt poster, Montana cows and calves.
We stopped at a rest stop and the parking for RV’s was really close together
We drove to Missoula the next day. We stopped at the Jump base for the smoke jumpers and toured it. A Sherpa airplane, one of the ones used by the smoke jumpers.
John at the smoke jumper museum and me on the carrousel
the kayak waterpark in Missoula, rainbow on the bus-it is still the pot of gold
