Rainbow springs is the 4th largest spring in Florida. The flow is 400 to 600 millions gallons a day of crystal clear , 72 degree water. Incredible water. We took our kayaks to a Aquatic River Adventures on the river. We left the car there and they drove us and our gear upstream and dropped us off at the put in. $7 each for the shuttle. We kayaked up river one mile to the head spring, then back down 4.6 miles to the take out. 80 degree, sunny day. This river was different than the rest we have kayaked in that it was lined with luxury homes on one side. Wild on one side, cool houses on the other.

Suep and the new boat at the head spring, a couple anhinga's and turtles on the way back.
John over the eel grass. The water was so clear it was like floating above the bottom on air. Here is a leaf on the surface above the grass on the bottom. It was over 20 feet deep in places, totally transparent to the bottom.
John passing a couple of young hard bodies fishing. Vine covered cypress trees
John took this photo of the side of his boat and it shadow way below on the white sand bottom. At the take out was this lovely restaurant, Swampy’s. It smelled so good we stopped for lunch over looking the river. John is happy he has a local brewed beer. He had a gator po boy for lunch. Beautiful river and great day.
