Another 200 mile day today. Pretty exhausting. Texas is HUGE! At least it is not snowing here.
John discovered a water leak under the washer, he isolated it to water heater. Our departure was delayed while John worked on it. He decided he needed a part. We stopped in Jolly, Texas and got the part, he installed it there and it still leaked. The water running down the outside of the bus is where he drained the water heater so he could work on it. He drained it 4 times. Diesel just keeps getting cheaper.
Nocona boots (cowboy boots) are made in Nocona, Texas. We are getting east enough in Texas that we are in hardwood forests.
Muenster, Texas is a German settlement. In Lindsay I thought these were Christmas lights as two trees from a distance, but they were the tops of silos. Looks like grain fields around here.
After Gainesville there were tons of these little horse ranchettes along the highway. After too much traffic is Sherman we made it to Eisenhower State Park outside of Denison, where Eisenhower was born. We are on the lovely Texoma Lake, which is a reservoir on the Red River between Texas and Oklahoma. Here is the bus in our camp site. John worked on the water leak more, while I went biking. He did fix the leak. Then refilled the water tanks.
Our campsite in the hardwood forest. These deer are across from our campsite.
The Eisenhower Yacht club has all these huge boats, in their own covered slips with hook ups and some with little cottages. We are only about 50 miles north of Dallas, I bet this place is packed in the summer. Sunset colors on the trees while I ride.
The swim beach and sunset.
