April 1-9, 2015 Fort Collins, Colorado

Only a mere 280 miles today and we made it back to Fort Collins. It feels great to be home. No more hotels. Our own kitchen and bed.

Downtown Raton, New Mexico in the morning as we left. Looked like a fun place to visit, another time. Welcome to Colorado and Fort Collins.

We went out walking by the river. It is kind of disconcerting to be in full on spring in the south and return to winter, bare trees and gray. Down by the river a bush is leafing out, and a wild fruit tree is blooming. The next day is snowed! What a shock to the system.

Most of it did not stick, just a dusting on the ground and around the blooming bulbs.

Our possessions from the bus arrived today in the POD. Our little place is already stuffed to seams with John’s things, my things, more furniture from my house and now we have to find somewhere to put the bus stuff. Most of it we are keeping packed for the next bus. The food and our clothes, books etc we are finding places for in the house.  John is happy to see the sex swing has survived not only the wreck, but also transport here.

We had dinner at Barry’s house Sunday night. Nancy, Rob, Mary, Barry, George and John.  Rob,  Barry, George, John and I were on a boating trip down the Grand Canyon together 6 years ago.  We saw this RV Doctor driving down to Denver. There are a number of mobile RV mechanics, but have never seen one in an ambulance before.  We were on our way to look at RV’s. It was depressing. We don’t like the newer ones, they are too fancy for us, and  way out of our budget. We are looking for an older used one, but the selection was pretty slim  at the RV dealers here. The good news is the insurance company made a preliminary bid on our repayment.  It was sort of reasonable, but John is negotiating with them.

It is fun to watch spring come. Two flowers I saw on a bike ride. The willows have spring green leaves-just since we arrived a week ago  and the fruit trees are blooming.
