December 17-18, 2015 Shoshone, California

Our exhibit at the gallery in Tecopa. Judy's desert wood products, mine and Ila's jewelry. The gallery is having an exhibit of small things this month. We went to Pahrump, Neveda today for supplies. It is the closest town with stores.

Sunset last night. The furnace is still not working. The part John ordered came today, but it was not the problem, he spent much of the day working on it and is pretty frustrated.

I went for a walk down by the river. Beautiful sunny day, maybe in the high 50's, but warm enough in the sun for shorts and t-shirt. The moon and huge birds nest in the cliff. I saw an owl here, but I don't know what kind of nest they have.

Feathery cloud. Reeds in front of Black Mountain with the DV for Death Valley high school. Their team is the scorpions,

This years reeds. The Amargosa river runs underground most of the year. In October there was a huge flood and it was raging. Soon the grasses with green up and the trees will have leaves. Beautiful riparian area.

My shadow looking east.  The lake in Shoshone Village. Anywhere there is water in the desert it is very lush.

Cool rocks, red ants, red desert holly berries and interesting dried mud. Reed and more cool dried mud.

Salt crystals by the river, mistletoe berries, interesting rock, more dried mud. These are really big pieces, the cracks are about 3 inches deep.
