September 6-9 Maroon Bells, Colorado

A couple of days off in one of the most beautiful places on earth. Esp with the warm sunshine everyday. 70’s/40’s.

Sliver moon over the Maroon Bells on the right. Really tough place to have to work.! Our diesel heater stopped putting out heat. John trouble shot it and determined that the fuel pump was not working, so he went to  Carbondale and purchased another one. Heaven forbid, Aspen does not have an autoparts store. Here he is installing it. I am not sure why, but there are two 12 packs of beer in the foreground here.

I washed the laundry in the bus and hung it out to dry.  In our lovely complimentary campsite that goes with the campground host job.  Our evening commute to the office. The aspens are starting to turn.

This great 1986 Toyota  RV was in the campground tonight. The woman in the photo is traveling around in it. She calls it the Tangerine Dream. Howdy, we are your lovely and talented campground hosts. Welcome to Maroon Bells. Please use the bear box and have a nice visit.

Our friends John and Mandy drove up from Fort Collins and are staying the weekend. This is their first real trip in it. Shot from outside and then the view through the windows.

John is opening a bottle of champagne in our kitchen to celebrate their first trip in the A-frame. Verrrry slowly since the altitude it making it extra bubbly. I finished this basket. John named it Global Warming- I can’t bear it. He says the white dichroic center is the vanishing ice cap.

John and Mandy inside their rig. We walked across the street to the huge fishing hole on West Maroon Creek so Mandy could try her hand at fishing. The fish were stubbornly not biting, but what a beautiful place.

The men sat on the bench and gave advice. The aspens on top of Highlands Ridge above us.
