August 6, 2017, Sawmill Lake, Colorado

We took off on a hike with John G and Mandy. It was cloudy and gloomy around camp, so we almost did not go, but when we drove up the road we drove out of the clouds and it was lovely.

John, Mandy and John on the trail. The flowers were lovely on our hike.  Fireweed, alpine dandilion and a gentian.

John following John onto a broken bridge along the way. A field of pearly everlastings.

Green gentian, fringed gentian and a stream in the meadow by Sawmill lake.

John takes this photo every year same time each year of Mandy and a few others so they can compare the snow pack. There was less snow this year. Mandy, John and John walking across a field of asters.

Senecios and asters.

Sawmill Creek  and one of a herd of moose we saw.

We had a short nap after lunch. The sun felt really good. Western bog laurel, hare bells and a cute little beetle that landed on my binoculars.

View downstream. Senecio, parry's primrose, saxifrage and a columbine.

Larkspur, death camus, paintbrush and pearly everlastings, butterfly, the top and side of ladies tresses and an amanita mushroom.
Brown mushrooms and chock cherries.
