April 13-16, 2018 Service Campground, Coffeeville, Alabama

Sunny, 80 degree day. Beautiful.

I woke up to this outside my window this am. Early morning light on the river. After I took the photos I went back to bed!

Our neighbor Andrea got this yoga hammock for her birthday to help her stretch her back. She asked me to help set it up. It needed something sturdy to hang if from so we used the play equipment in the campground. It worked great. A small flower in the campground and a wild looking caterpillar.

Dinner with the neighbors Phil and Andrea tonight. BBQ brats, potato salad and green beans John made. Yummy. Some of my jewels in the foreground. A big storm rolled in today. They had predicted severe thunderstorms, high wind, possible tornadoes and big hail. But we just got lots and lots of rain with a little thunder.

Looking out the window at the rain. We had the neighbors over for dinner. John cooked some killer red sauce, meatballs and pasta. I made some bread and Andrea and Phil brought a salad. Yum, yum. I was out walking in the rain in the dark and a tow boat went by pushing a couple barges. I didn't hear the boat because of the rain so wondered where the light was coming from. I checked a small creek by the bathroom to see how much water was in it and saw orange alligator eyes reflecting back at me. Must have more water than I expected!

The rain gauge is full. I know it is not straight up and down, but it measures 5 3/4 inches. So probably officially over 3-4 inches. These  neighbors pulled in yesterday in a giant 5th wheel, plugged in and turned on the AC, put up lots of yard bling, including their satellite TV antenna , a really bright street light in front, a light in the back made from a white 5 gallon bucket and a shop light, turned both on, plus super bright led lights on their awning. Came out briefly  for a fire, then left all the lights on all night. Haven't seen them today but thankfully with the rain all the lights are off. I hope they enjoy their outdoor camping expierence.

Sunset tonight. The first one has a vulture in it.

Our fun neighbors left this morning. They have the coolest trailer. I should have taken a photo of it set up. This is packed up. When they arrive somewhere they drop the back door, drive the bikes out, put down a carpet,  then fold the bed on the left outside like a slide and the couch on the right down. There is a kitchen and bathroom in the front.  They leave the back down and have a big screen door on the back. This is the latest masterpiece in progress. It has a piece of glass I made in the center.

It was down in the low 40's last night. When I woke up and looked out the window I saw this cool mist on the river, it looked like the river  was burning.

Sunrise in the mist. Morning light on the bus.
