June 30- July 3, 2023 Fort Collins, Colorado

Cool and rainy. High of 69.

Almost finished cleaning out the my brothers condo. John dismantling furniture so the removers who charge by the cubic yard will not charge as much. He also is checking the electrical sockets that don't work. We took the box springs and two foam mattresses and crammed  them in the van- had to cut up one of the foam ones to get them to fit. Had to cut up one of the mattresses to get it to fit. The removers charge $75 per mattress. Of course the dump charges $35 each. What a wonderful husband! The living room with the dismantled furniture. The desk to the left is going to stay in the condo. We tried to donate the furniture but the local Goodwill and ARC are not taking any now, they are over stocked.

The waxing gibbous moon in sunset to night back at home. Small rain squall coming off the foot hills as I rode my bike to John and Mandy's house.

Prickly poppy along the bike path. Mandy, John and John enjoying the wonderful dinner at Mandy and John's house. Great to see them.

I am spending the night at Jerry's condo because the furniture removers are coming tomorrow at 830 am and if I stay here I don't have to get up so early. Evening light over Jerry's memorial garden. Sunset over the lake .

One of the many barn swallows that live around the lake. . They have a nest built outside the back door and when I got out they fly up on the roof.   The sunset turned bright pink at the end.

Around back I caught the full Buck moon rising rosy in the sunset. High of 93 degrees and sunny. Derek and J James came and removed what was left of the the furniture today. They were excellent, did a great job. Nice , honest hardworking guys.

Derek and J taking the fridge. I could not find anyone to take the free fridge. I even posted it on Craig's list free. So I thought it was destined to the dump where they took everything else. But Derek wanted it for his garage. Fridge saved.  Then they cleaned the carpets. The condo looks great. My brother had a really nice condo in a nice peaceful place in the country on a lake with wonderful neighbors. I am going to miss going down there. The condo looks great. The second bedroom empty. And the living room, dining room area. At the last minute John said I could keep the recliner- it is so comfortable. Saved it from the dump too. We will get rid on one of John's chairs. His unit is the biggest one in the complex of 29. Neighbors came through and oohed and ahhed.

Looking from the living room into the kitchen. I looked out the window at home and thought maybe some fluffy dog was stuck in the fence, but on closer inspection it was a wig!

Over two months since my brother passed away he received this notice that as a Colorado resident he qualifies for 100% free final expenses. Return the card for information on burial benefits and a free Walmart gift card. I am sending it in. Jerry would have done it for the free Walmart card, and who knows, maybe they will pay for all his funeral expenses.
