September 15, 2023 Dutch George, outside of Fort Collins, Colorado

It was in the 60's and very cloudy still.

We hiked on the path up the canyon across the road from the campground. When we got to the creek crossing the water was high from all the rain. We had to cross on a bunch of logs. But once we got there it was a field of poison ivy, so we turned around.

Warnings at camp. Flash flood hazard and high risk bear area. We didn't see either. Mullen, white campion, and a thistle. Mountain mahogany seeds, white aster, yellow clover, fall colors and evening primroses.

Waist high grass on our hike. Black eyed Susan, fall leaves, asters, poison ivy, yellow flowers and rabbit bush.

The creek beside the trail. Lots of purple aster along the trail.

Yellow aster, grass seeds, white asters, wild clematis seeds, and mullein. Virginia's bower-wild clematis.

Yellow flowering bush, senecio, white asters, gone by lupine, and scotch brome grass seeds. Still a black cloud overhead, but it did not rain.

I finished this basket that I started on the way home last spring. It is made from dyed pine needles, polyester thread, gemstone, glass and metal beads and the center is stone my friend gave me. It is 7 x 7 x 3 inches.

Dinner on a nice fall evening at our picnic table.
