It was still lovely Indian summer weather. Yesterday we got remnants of tropical storm Simon, so it will be rainy 50/60’s and 30/40’s for the next few days.
Beautiful clouds over the Poudre river. Full moon rising over Fort Collins, it was a total eclipse later in the night.
We took my brother Jerry out for dinner for his birthday. He had never been to Casa Bonita-a Denver roadside attraction for 40 years and wanted to go. It is decorated like a Mexican village inside complete with a 30 foot waterfall. It is designed mostly for children. The food is inedible, as much as you can eat and fortunately very cheap. You have to buy a meal as the price for admission. They also have an arcade, puppet stage, black Bart's cave and a gift shop. Other than the food it is a well done place for children. Most people in Denver when you mention the place just roll their eyes, but I suppose it is part of Denver everyone should see once. Our group at our table, Jerry, Bill, John, Katie, Reed and Katy. The bottom photo is our table in the bottom right corner.
Casa Bonita is known for it’s entertainment. One of the cliff divers in front of the waterfall and a woman juggling fire before she dove into the water with her flames. they also had a Gorilla show and a pirate show. Jerry with his birthday fried ice cream.
Jerry with a few gifts, a mask Katy gave him to wear during the festivities –which he declined and a shirt from John. We filled a box with gag gift that he opened all evening as our entertainment. We had a fun evening.
