November 21, 2016 Klamath, California

We went south into California. There was some weird twist of the cosmos and the predicted 100 % chance of rain and cloudy all day turned into bright sunshine. It was stunning.

We passed the Fruit inspection. They even looked under the bus and in the wheel wells for gypsy moths. We got a certificate saying we have no gypsy moths.  We have to keep the certificate in the bus the whole time we are in Calif. We drove through the redwoods.

We are camped at Chinook RV park in Klamath, California. we got there early enough to get the primest spot, right on the river. You know you are going into a cool RV park when it says at the entrance-Prepare to Fish. We drove up to Klamath overlook to watch sunset. This is the view looking down at the where the Klamath River enters the ocean.

Since there were no clouds the sunset was rather ho-hum, but it was a nice view. We saw this little pygmy owl at the over look. He is only about 7 inches tall.  He has black eye spots on the back of his head so you can’t tell if he is looking at you. Kind of spooky. A huge cow parsnip blossom and a  gigantic banana slug. I unfortunatly stepped on him right after taking his photo. I felt bad.
