May 20-23, 2023 Eugene, Oregon

High of 77 and mostly sunny. It was foggy when we woke up, but it burned off.

When it got hot I just parked the lawn chair in this cool green area and worked on some baskets. Carpeted with moss and English daisies. This basket is made from wire grass and the center is a dichroic glass paw. I still need to add beads to it. It is 6 1/2 x 2 1/4 inches.

I finished this one a few days ago. It is wire grass with a dichroic glass center, polyester thread and glass and metal beads. It is 5 1/2 x 2 1/4 inches. I worked on this one today. It has a frog made from recycled wine bottles in the center, wire grass, dyed pine needles, polyester thread and glass beads.   It is 7 1/2 x 1 3/4 inches so far, but will be taller.

John cooked a wonderful steak dinner for Leslie and Scott and us. Fun to see them, dinner was yummy. The lake in early evening. There was just enough wind during the day to make the lake to choppy to kayak. It calmed down in the evening, but dinner was ready then.

The marina  in early evening. Black locust flowers.

We were back at Oregon Motorcoach bright and early in the morning. This evening our view into the shop where the coach was all day and we are the only ones parked in front of the bays tonight. I finished the second toad in a basket. It is made from wire grass and dyed pine needles, polyester thread, glass beads and the center is a toad I cast from recycled wine bottles. 8 x 1 3/4 inches.

Last night I wire wrapped these three dichroic glass pendants I fused. I like the wire wrapping. I started this basket today. The center is a piece of dichroic glass I beveled and polished with a raven sandblasted in the center. It is made from dyed pine needles and polyester thread so far. At this time it is 5 1/4 x 1 inch.

John cooking dinner in the parking lot tonight.

The coach up in the air. They are changing filters and fluids and checking the rest. Our coach is  dwarfed by the huge, newer, luxury coaches in the lot. I finished this basket today. It is made from dyed pine needles, polyester thread and glass beads. The center is a piece of dichroic glass that I sandblasted a raven into, then fused, beveled and polished. it is about 7 x 1 1/2 inches.

We went for a walk at Doris Ranch with Leslie and Scott this afternoon. Delphiniums lining the trail. John on the elephant or ostrich tree.

Blue camas, delphinium, black berry, wild cucumber vine, false Solomon's seal, and yellow flowers. John, Leslie, Rhody and Scott entering the forest with a cow parsnip in the foreground.

The trail through the forest by the river. Scott, Leslie, John and Rhody walking through the hazelnut grove.

Cow parsnip, Himalayan black berry, piggy back flowers, daisies, and Welcome to Springfield, Oregon.
