We left Tampa for the beach at Fort Myers Beach. About 100 mile drive. Right before we left I went to a RV drivers confidence class. Noticed more, wondered if I could ever drive the bus. Fort Myers Beach is an island right off the coast from Fort Myers.
Not sure which country John is taking me too! Downtown Fort Myers Beach. Crowded, hotels, curios shops-tourist central. The traffic gets bumper to bumper slow about noon and stays that way till late evening. The Bridge back to the mainland I guess. One lane each way.
We are staying at the Red Coconut. The only Rv park on the beach. But it is on both sides of the road. We are on the non beach side, right up next to a wilderness preserve. Much quieter and less sand to drag in the beach, but still very close to the beach.
This gnome was on the beach. His owners take him everywhere and post his photo on face book. A gaggle of birds, sanderlings and willets.
early on sunset, John and Sue on the beach
Sailboat in the sunset
birds in the sunset. Great blue heron in the second one.
Sue at sunset. I had to buy a big hat. I hate hats. They give me a head ache, but the sun is so intense that 50 sunblock was not keeping my face from starting to burn. I feel like I have gone over to the dark side of tourist wear.
