A 164 mile drive up over Tehachapi Pass ( 4000 + feet) to Lone Pine.

The Tehachapi-Mojave wind resource has 4,500 wind turbines, produces 2.4 billion kilowatt hours per year. Mojave Air and Space port in Mohave, Ca.
Rotary Rocket at the space port. It was built in 1999. It had helicopter rotors on top. The idea was to use the rotors to bring the rocket up high enough to use the rocket motors, then it could land with the helicopter rotors, making it reusable. They ran out of funding before the final test. The cockpit is the round thing in the middle with the two seats. One of it’s cons was that the pilots could not see the ground, or around them. Who would have believed it, a brewery in the middle of the desert? Indian Wells brewery and RocketFizz bottling planet. John was driving the bus so he only got tiny tastes, about a tablespoon.

Owens lake, or what is left of it. The Owens valley was a lush agricultural valley before LA stole it’s water and turned it into an arid desert.
