Sue and John shadows. If you look real close you can see we have our arms in the saguaro position. Sunset.
This side blotch lizard was outside the front door when I went out to see the sights of Quartzsite. I stopped at the Readers Oasis Bookstore to see Paul the naked guy who is the owner and bought a bag full of books-he has a great marketing gig. He dress like this every day. He has a great tan. It is a huge really cool used bookstore, books in shelves all the way to almost the ceiling. I read in the local paper that Paul is a fabulous blues piano player. He toured for 25 years before settling here.
Then I went to Celia’s rainbow gardens. It is in memory of Celia who passed away suddenly at 8 years old of a cardiac virus.. The garden is a volunteer and donation effort. It is mostly many different displays in memory of others. I also read in the paper that Celia was Paul’s (the naked guy) daughter.
Part of the miniature pioneer village and the hand print wall. It is so hot and dry here many of the memorials are done in rock. Here are a few.
Some of the plantings were flowering. The last photo is the statue at the skate board park in the city park.
Also in the city park are two fighter jets. Across the street, behind the judicial center is a thousand year old ironwood tree. You can see the bench under it and get a idea of how big it is. This side of town looks more like a nice town, unlike the more temporary part we have been visiting.
Moon rising in the sunset and the sunsets last gasp was red.
