December 30, 2018-Jan 4, 2019 Shoshone, California

Judy and Laurie arrived last night after 8 pm. They left the bay area at 5 am. A very long drive. John cooked dinner, then they went to bed.

Sunset with Tecopa Peak. Ila came to visit with us this morning. It was great to see her. She is demonstrating the her new drum. Ila wearing her cute eared fur hat when she left.

Sunset tonight in Shoshone.

We hiked the loop hike behind the house. Judy and I in our matching coats and John and Judy ahead of me.

Sunset in Tecopa outside of the Steaks and Beer where we had dinner. John, me, Judy and Laurie. The place has 2 tables and bar seating inside plus lots of outdoor seating. It was very windy and cold so we walked in just as the bar became available. Great food.

The bus in front of Judy's house. Originally there were 6 of these small houses built as employee housing for the Mojave Mud company. 4 remain, 3 restored.  Judy and John at the pupfish pond. The pupfish are an endangered species, but are thriving here. We scared up the great egret in the pond when we arrived.

I finished this little green guy. This is the first time I have used the popcorn stitch. It is very time consuming. 4 stitches for each stitch. But it is very pretty. This is 6 x 3 inches with a piece of glass I made as the center and glass beads. I dropped by the museum This evening and caught the lecture by Steve Halteman. He talked about his new book The Death Q; An Unusual Guide to an 811 Mile Thru Hike Circling Death Valley on Abandoned Railroads'. Very interesting. Got to chat with a few people too.

Susan Sorrells took us out to dinner at the BBQ place in Tecopa. Judy, Sue and John waiting for our dinner. Laurie and Robbie also waiting for their dinners.

Robbie and Susan at dinner tonight. Sunset light on the way to Pahrump tonight.
