January 5-7, 2019 Shoshone, California

A bit of rain today. Highs in the low 50's, lows in the high 40's. Very pleasant and cozy inside.

We hiked the 3 mile loop trail behind the house. Only a tiny bit of mud on the surface in places. But a very pleasant hike in the rain.

Today we hiked with friends outside of Tecopa. The clouds were clearing as we headed out.

Receding dark clouds by Resting Springs. We went to the mill at Gunsight Mine.

They named this Toni's face because she found it. Art work in the desert. Ruins of the mill.

Badlands on the way back. On the left in the distance over Tecopa is Telescope Peak with snow on it. It is on the west side of Death Valley.

Badlands with the Kingston mountains in the background. A cool rock on the desert, a cut little bump on the desert in the badlands and The Base camp for hoppyness at Death Valley Brewing.

We stopped at Death Valley Brewing on the way home. John in the sun on the patio with his Snakebite IPA. I made these cute little baskets.  The big one is 5 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches, the smaller on in the front is 2 x 1 1/2 inches and the one on the right is 2 x 2 1/2 inches. They are decorated with gemstone chips.

Sunset tonight in Shoshone. Tecopa behind the hot springs.

Date Palm. Hiking east of Shoshone at sunset.

Rock Circle and Alison viewing the view.
Sunset tonight.
