September 27, 2019 Pyramid Lake, Nevada

High 80's yesterday, 70's today with some wind and supposed to be in the 40's tomorrow with rain.

Wind waves on the lake. We went to the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe Museum/visitors Center. It is in the cool building. The fish are cui-ui, a fish that only lives in Pyramid Lake.  It was a main food source for the indians living here.

A photo of the Stone Mother. It is a rock formation that looks like a seated woman with a basket. The Lahontan cutthroat trout are the largest cutthroat species. The largest recorded trout weighted in at 41 lbs. Anaho Island is wildlife refuge. It has the largest nesting colony of white pelicans in the world. beaded jewelry seen in the museum gift shop. The high school has a pyramid on top of it, white and yellow flowers seen today and the 'popcorn' rock.

No burning man trash please. It is against the law here to 'import' trash. One of the beaches is called Wino Beach, and some of the coiled baskets made by the natives here. . .  Cool looking cove.

Another view of the cool looking cove. I couldn't decide which photo to use, so I used both. Tamarack Rock is one of many tufa formations around the lake.

Pre Sunset from camp. The dinner table is set up for the sunset show.

Nice clouds over the lake. Wild cloud over the bus.

As the sunset went on this lenticular cloud morphed into this.

The cloud over the bus went through a few shape changes.
