March 10-11, 2020 Shoshone, California

Rainy day in the 60's.

It was rainy, but we got moments of sunshine. We hiked on the blue trail to the aqua trail. John climbing out of the muddy slick spot. All three of us ladies slipped on each side and John took photos. We had our cameras trained on John while he came up hoping to catch him slipping. he didn't slip and his photos of us did not come out!

Roll of barb wire with the DV on the mountain in the background. The Death Valley Academy here in Shoshone (home of the scorpions) painted the DV up there. Oddly the shadow in the wire looks kind of like a cow. John and Karin on a ridge.

Rainy day desert colors.  The sign for the campground. It is a wonderful campground, grass, trees, and a warm spring mineral pool.

Ravens at the dumpsters waiting for me to leave so they can go back to dining. Rain clouds over Tecopa Peak.

The brittle bush are finally blooming. Seems like they are late this year. Desert dandelion, pin cushion and some woolly daisies.

Pygmy poppy, brittle bush flower, monkey flower, and a field of wooly daisies. We hiked with Joey and Lisa on the white trail. Ahead are Joey and John up ahead.

Weird looking cliff. Two desert tortoises racing toward us hoping we will feed them.

Sunset reflected in a puddle from last nights rain.  The cool restored vintage sign for Chas Brown Co market, liquor and souvenirs in the sunset.
Beautiful historic downtown Shoshone.
