April 13-15, 2020 Shoshone, California

Sunny, 70 degrees and beautiful. We are still sheltering in place with social distance here. We have not decided when we will leave to go back to Colorado. Waiting to see what happens with the virus and for it to quit snowing there.

Sunset last night. A few pink fluffy clouds to the east and a longer one to the west.

The plant is a turtle back. It gets it's name from  it's shape. The white flowers are fragrant crypanthia from the other day to fill the corner spot. I must be one heck of a teacher. I taught Judy D how to make baskets and here is her first one!! It has 4 different types of stitches in it. The center is a cinquefoil leaf, which is a plant that grows in the mountains, not a marijuana, leaf set in resin. It is about 12 x 4 inches. Wow.

'
Judy D with her new masterpiece.  My current masterpiece in progress. I am done adding needles to it. The center is a piece of glass that I fused that has the sun and rays coming through the mist and the trees. I am working on using beads to have the sun rays extend out of the center. It is 11 x 11 x 2 inches. The larger beads have cute little frogs on them.  Stay tuned for progress reports.

I cooked a delicious red sauce that I got the recipe from one on Nicholas Sparks romance books. It was so nice we had dinner outside tonight. During an evening walk around town I took this photo of the historic Inyo Co. Sheriff office. There was a wooden boarding house on this spot when the railroad went through town behind it. It burnt down and this adobe building was built by the railroad in it's place. It was a boarding house and offices for many years. Now it has storage and the Sheriffs office.

Our two young neighbors (6 and 4) come over everyday to visit with us. John decided he needed to find something for them to do, so he gave them math tests. They really liked them and it kept them quiet for quite awhile. Not many clouds, a rather thin sunset.
Ten years ago today John and I started out on our trip in the motor home. We had no idea how it would work out. But here we are 10 years later still loving it. 9 years ago today we signed the tax forms as married and became common law spouses. I gave John this and sang happy anniversary. Thanks darling for the great years, here's to many more!
