March 7-10, 2024 Shoshone, California

High of 67 and partly cloudy.

Ruby throated hummingbird at the feeder. When he turned into the sun his throat flashed, looked cool. Of course he didn't pose long enough for me to get a photo of the flash. I was minding my own business, sitting in the sun working on a basket. I looked up and there was this unpredicted rain storm. Rained hard. We got 0.14 inches.

The sun came out while it was still raining and we got this huge rainbow.

The desert gold is loving the rain. Brittlebush.

Sunset reflected. Woo hoo, a couple of my photos are in this show! The small photo is John on Lake Manly.

We went on a short hike to Pom Pom spring today with James, Judy, Axel and Marlisa. The spring has two palm trees. It is not on the maps, but James named it Pom Pom because of the two palms. The group heading back cross country.

You can see the snow covered peak of Telescope peak in Death Valley in the distance. There were lots of the Texas crane's bills. I have never seen them before, but there are a lot of them this year.

The art show opening reception was today. I had three photos in it. Excellent show. The small blue one on the flyer is John boating lake Manly in Death Valley, top right was my kayak on Lake Manly and the bottom right is a sunset reflection in a huge rain puddle at  Death Valley Junction. The waterfall photo on the flyer was one of a series showing the water damage to the highway after the hurricane taken by Dave. Good turn out for the reception. It is always fun to see everyone.

We had a nice sunset show at dinner at the BBQ in Tecopa. Raven strutting around. A trick of the light makes it look like he has tattoos. And the red throated hummingbird.

Sunset.
