November 18-19, 2025 Shoshone, California

High of 56 and heavy rain. We have gotten 1 1/2 inches in the last two storms. That is a lot for here. There is some flooding.

Rain in the pass. Water by the gas station and general store.

Flood downtown Shoshone. Water droplets in palo verde leaves, two shaggy main mushrooms and some red seed heads on a shrubbery.

Wild looking cloud. The water is not even close to going over the road. Maybe when the water comes down from up north.

The other side of the road. It does flood on this road. The sun coming out in the RV park.

Rainbow over the RV park. Sunset on the sliver of the Nopah range that we can see from here.

Sunset in the RV park.

More sunset and cool looking clouds.

The phone is always taking photos of me when I am trying to shoot pictures . . . I received this pine needle Xmas ornament for my partner in the ornament exchange. It has broach in the middle. Really cute.

I finished this basket today. It is made from dyed and natural pine needles, polyester thread, glass beads, a metallic raven and the center is a piece of slate that I sandblasted and painted the raven on. Sunset tonight reflected in rain puddles.

November 14-17, 2025 Shoshone, California

 73, cloudy and light rain.

We moved the RV to the Shoshone RV park. Judy is getting 9 date palm trees planted in her yard. We had to move out of the construction zone. 5 of the trees. This backhoe was delivered this am. Judy and John went to Pahrump to pick up the trailer and delivered it to China Ranch Date Farm, where the trees came from.

First tree going in.

First tree. Digging the hole for the second tree.

Third tree. These trees are very heavy, requires a lot of strong men to get them planted.

Brian running the backhoe. This palm tree is monstrous.

Putting the monster tree  in the ground. Tomorrow or Sunday they will come back and plant the last three.  It rained the whole next day.

Sunset during an interlude in the rain. I finished the curtains for my sister's house. The top photo is the new curtains. You can see a palm tree outside the window now. The bottom part is one of the original ones I made her 20 years ago. In the bottom of the photo you can see the ironing board used while sewing.

Cool clouds over the cemetery. There are 6 of the 9 new palm trees now in my sisters yard.

Last light on the Resting Spring range. How is this for a weird sunset?

Robbie had road base put down where we park with the bus. He said to water it and let it dry. It is supposed to rain tonight and tomorrow, so it may not dry out for a few days. We are still at the Shoshone RV which is fine since it is such a nice park. Lots of trees and grass and even a spring fed pool. The curtains for Judy's window have conchos along the top. Needed 14, but only had 10 from a couple smaller curtains I had made for her other house. I took all the conchos of them. Dug through Judy's sewing stuff and found 2 more. I had found 2 in my button box back in Fort Collins and brought them along, but I lost them in the bus. Last night I found them and put the last two on the curtains. Finally finished.

Nice refection in a puddle left from the last rain storm. Some sunset weirdness.

Sunset south and east from the RV park.

November 7-12. 2025 Shoshone, California

 86 an sunny.

My sister has these gigantic oleander trees in her yard, see the left side of the photo. She is getting date palms planted in her yard and is removing the oleanders. John working with a chain saw to cut the front one down. There was another one the same size on the other side of the house. He also cut it down, and then spend a day and a half hauling the branches to the dumpster. Nice job John. The local curious road runner came over the check it out.

The road runner posed backlit for me. Judy took us to dinner at the Crowbar afterwards as a thank you.

Today was the Fire Dept fund raiser flea market and sale. It was a small sale, but across the street is the 3 day music festival, the Tecopa Takeover. So we had lots of customers come by. This is the booth Judy and I had. I had my jewels, and baskets. Judy does wood work. She made this wooden treadle lathe and
sets it up at shows. It brings a lot of people over to see it. We also had some pottery our friend Susan makes. We sold a lot more than I thought we would at such a small sale. It was also fun to see all our old friends that live in the area.

Marlys, pictured in front of the beautiful quilt she made and donate for the raffle to raise money for the fire dept. Every year she makes one for the Tecopa Fire Dept and the museum in Shoshone. Every year I buy a ton of raffle tickets, but am still waiting to win one. I really like this one. Pat Puckett doing a horsemanship demo at the fundraiser.

Judy and I hiking on the Aqua trail.

Sunset. Woo hoo, I won a couple ribbons at the glass show.

Ribbons at the Echter's glass show in Arvada.

Yet another ribbon at the Echter's glass show. Sunset.

There are auroras up north. Not sure if these are auroras or lights from Las Vegas. The main battery on my sister's 13 year old Tesla died. It is being towed to the Tesla dealer in Vegas to see if it can be resuscitated.

I am making some curtains for Judy's new house. This is one of the ones I made from the old house 20 years ago when she moved into the last house. She brought them over to her new house, but the new house has more windows. She has just enough fabric left over to make one more. I had to piece it together at little. Hopefully finish it tomorrow. This is my mother's old featherweight singer. She got it as a wedding present in 1940. My sister taught me to sew on it when I was in like 3rd grade. It is still running strong. Sunset.
