November 14-17, 2025 Shoshone, California

 73, cloudy and light rain.

We moved the RV to the Shoshone RV park. Judy is getting 9 date palm trees planted in her yard. We had to move out of the construction zone. 5 of the trees. This backhoe was delivered this am. Judy and John went to Pahrump to pick up the trailer and delivered it to China Ranch Date Farm, where the trees came from.

First tree going in.

First tree. Digging the hole for the second tree.

Third tree. These trees are very heavy, requires a lot of strong men to get them planted.

Brian running the backhoe. This palm tree is monstrous.

Putting the monster tree  in the ground. Tomorrow or Sunday they will come back and plant the last three.  It rained the whole next day.

Sunset during an interlude in the rain. I finished the curtains for my sister's house. The top photo is the new curtains. You can see a palm tree outside the window now. The bottom part is one of the original ones I made her 20 years ago. In the bottom of the photo you can see the ironing board used while sewing.

Cool clouds over the cemetery. There are 6 of the 9 new palm trees now in my sisters yard.

Last light on the Resting Spring range. How is this for a weird sunset?

Robbie had road base put down where we park with the bus. He said to water it and let it dry. It is supposed to rain tonight and tomorrow, so it may not dry out for a few days. We are still at the Shoshone RV which is fine since it is such a nice park. Lots of trees and grass and even a spring fed pool. The curtains for Judy's window have conchos along the top. Needed 14, but only had 10 from a couple smaller curtains I had made for her other house. I took all the conchos of them. Dug through Judy's sewing stuff and found 2 more. I had found 2 in my button box back in Fort Collins and brought them along, but I lost them in the bus. Last night I found them and put the last two on the curtains. Finally finished.

Nice refection in a puddle left from the last rain storm. Some sunset weirdness.

Sunset south and east from the RV park.
