Rogue River trip Oct 9-15

The river trip was wonderful. We had perfect weather. We hardly saw anyone, which is really rare on the Rogue. Our group was lots of fun. We had wonderful food and ate too much. The only injury was me getting stung by a yellow jacket. This will be a  long post, LOTS of photos

The coast was foggy when we took off. Cats and Martha in the cool tree.

Camp and Leslie and Martha

We had a small keg of Ill Tempered Gnome beer to celebrate the birthdays and Leslie and Scotts 10th anniversary. Nobody said who the ill tempered Gnome was. . .

Above is the food hoist sign. There was also an electric bear fence at that site.We saw 4 bears on the river-Scott even came around the corner to one swimming ahead of him. None of them bothered us in camp. Below the bear hoist is the dew on the grass and the group picking a spot for lunch.

A pumpkin on a rock in the river. It is tradition for boaters to put pumpkins on rocks for halloween. We placed 8 ourselves. right is lunch, with a huge rock for the table.

above is a bear print and the fubar sisters Leslie, Martha and Cats, they met when they were on the ski patrol at Breckenridge many years ago. the last photo is most of the rest of us at the Take out. Scott, John M, Leslie, Suep, John S and Cats.

After we got off the river we went to Port Orford. John and Cats live there. We spent the night and had a beach day the next day.

A sandstone cliff on the beach and John Shipp, John Moran, Martha, Leslie and Scott catching some rays

The pier at Port Orford. They winch the boats out of the water to protect them from the ocean and the boys waiting outside while the girls buy some fresh seafood
