August 23 2011 Glacier-Many Glaciers area

Many glaciers is another section of Glacier. North of St Mary. We went up for the day and hiked to Red Rock lake and took a tour of the lodge. I wanted to come back and ride the boat. It goes up to the end of this lake, then you walk 1/4 a mile and take another boat up the next lake. Then we could have hiked to Grinnell lake and view of Grinnell glacier. But we did not make it back for it, perhaps next time. Northwest railroads who built this hotel wanted it to look like a Swiss chalet. Their ads said it was the Switzerland of America. The bellhops even wore lederhosen.
