August 10, 2012 DC

Spent a couple days relaxing around the house, John played golf with Ray and Chris( my brother and nephew) Today we went to the rest of the Smithsonian museum of air and space at Dulles airport. HUGE museum and LOTS of aircraft.

I had no idea the first satellites were so small. An early robot built to test the space suits how much force it requires to move in the suits.

space toys, ray guns, space ships, robots, space Barbie's, the mobile quarantine facility built for the astronauts returning from the moon. The idea was to prevent to spread of lunar contagions.  It is a converted Airstream trailer. They keep the air pressure inside it lower than outside so no ‘moon germs’ escape.
