Enjoying our visit in Wayne, Pennsylvania with John’s brother Tim and family.
Lisa, John, Tim and Jake Moran at the Valley Forge visitors center. Jake Moran is number 32 at this scrimmage. Jake’s real name is John also. Both Johns are named after John’s father, or Jakes grandfather- who also went by Jake.
Jake is sort of looking at us. The Philadelphia skyline.
Claire Moran in her racy sunglasses, wearing a glass necklace made by a famous glass artist. Lisa, Jake, Tim, John and Claire Moran-and an unidentified sleeping woman waiting for me at the Mutter museum at the Pennsylvania college of Medicine.
Mutter Museum, disturbingly informative medical museum- they didn’t allow photos, which is good, disturbing. . . The Liberty bell replica. The line was too long to see the real one.
Dale Chihuly Freedom Flame at the Liberty museum. It used to be a glass museum, but now it is a glass and freedom museum. In the gift shop I found some art glass by a Denver glass artist I know- Deb Carlson.
a glass piece at the museum, Jake and I reflected in another piece at the museum
a glass chess set- rabbis and catholics. Chief Joseph at the museum. He is sand carved, I was working on learning that technique in my studio- I have a long way to go to be this good.
Sue and John in front of Independence hall, where the Declaration of Independence was signed. Claire and Jake Moran- brother and sisterly love.
cobblestone street. The second national bank of the US, with cobblestones in front.
We stopped on the way home at a local place for cheese steaks. Yum. Reportedly the restaurant has been closed twice for selling horse meat, but it didn’t seem to slow business. We had the Mr. Ed special. . .
