High of 62 and partly sunny.
Cold road runners this morning. They were fluffed up to keep warm. They fluff their feathers, but expose their back which has black skin and face it toward the sun to absorb heat. The last one is probably ones of the same ones this afternoon, it kept approaching me, looking for food. We hiked the Light house trail.
John on the trail. The rocks and soil are unbelievably red. Hoo doo.
John rounding the corner. The cliffs were very colorful.
John approaching Light House Peak. It is the best know feature in the park. The back side of Lighthouse Peak with the sun on it.
Colorful cliffs.
John on the trail below a cool rock formation. Split cedar tree, The thorns on the mesquite are about 2 inches long. Yucca with rocks with wave marks on them.
Red cliffs. Interesting rock formation. John thought it looked like two squirrels trying to eat each other, I thought it looks like a deformed foot.
More beautiful cliffs on the way back.
