Aftermath of the rain and flood Dec 23, 2010

We went out after the rain and viewed the flood. It had gone down considerably when we went out. But most roads were closed still, so we walked to some. There were flooded roads, damaged roads, lakes where there had been none before, sucking mud quicksand  and the Amargosa river which flows mostly under ground was a raging river. John wanted to kayak it, but we did not know where the take out would be or if it would be solid mud.

The clouds cleared and the sun came out to the most beautiful light.

There was sucking mud quicksand if you stepped off the road.
