Death Valley Dec 23 2010

We drove down to Death Valley to spend the night at Stovepipe Wells and hike.

Lake Manly the flooded middle of the valley is filling up with water. We want to kayak it. Above is Furnace Creek Inn.

Don't feed the coyotes!

Christmas Death Valley style. After dinner we hiked on the dunes by almost full moon light.
Morning Dunes Death Valley and a coyote who hopes that the out of country tourists can't read the don't feed the coyotes sign. He was at the hotel.
the pool at Stovepipe wells. We wanted to sunbathe and drink Margaritas all day but chose instead to hike. This is Mosaic Canyon.

We exited Fall Canyon at sunset. Mosaic canyon is very popular and was packed with people. Fall canyon only had a couple people and we only passed them, so it was much nicer. It is an 8 mile round trip hike, but very worth it.

Here a couple photos of me trying to climb a dry fall in Fall Canyon.
