Bye Bye San Jose, Hello Laguna Seca, Ca 12/1/10

We had to stay an extra day in San Jose yesterday. The heater quit working. It stops when the diesel gets too low, it leaves enough to drive the bus. The heater sucked up the debris from the bottom on the tank. Took John all day to fix it.
Here he is working on it. The fire extinguisher made me nervous. While he was working on it this pulled up across the street. It is melted where the heater goes and the inside is burnt up.

While he was working I worked on my new basket, a trash can. And enjoyed the sunset from the top of the bus over the recycling plant on the other side of the fence from us. There is a constant back up beeping and crashing sounds. I think the crashes are the trucks dumping and the beeping are fork lifts. They are open from 6am - 11pm. We are having fun here, but really ready to leave the city.

The basket is going to be much taller. It has some acorns and eucalyptus seeds in it that I may add to it later.

We finally got out of the city on Tues. We are now at Laguna Seca. A county park near Monterrey. Really quiet. It is near  the Mazda Racetrack. They have a racing school here. We can see the cars from our site. We spent the day watching the racers and the sunset. We are practically the only resident of the campsite and were the only spectators at the race track.

Once again the blog is putting photos where ever it wants. The bird is a snowy egret.
