The 10th was a beautiful day. We headed to the beach. The Atlantic ocean is a little cooler than the gulf, and much deeper, also had more rocks. But the beach was lovely. On the 11th is was cloudy and raining, not a beach day, so we went back to Kennedy Space Center. Is is such a cool place!
These are blooming in the campground. Don’t know what they are, other than beautiful.
Beach near Melbourne Florida, A tern-looks like he is wearing a toupee!
a Plover, rocks covered with coral on the beach
barnacles. A model of the space shuttle with the Hubble telescope when it launched. We went to a really good Imax of the Hubble on our last trip to the Space Center. This time we went to the Imax of the space station. It was good too, but the Hubble was better.
The worlds largest space gift shop. A T-38, it is one of the planes the astronauts flew to train for space
The space mirror. It is made out of black granite. It has the names of all the astronauts who died in the line of duty. It is supposed to have the names with the sky reflected on the granite.
a Kennedy Space Center flying space squirrel. John looking into a space capsule
Captain John with his crew. A model of the space shuttle on top of a 747 to transport it. It was like putting a butterfly on top of a bullet they said. We rode in the shuttle launch simulator.
Next we went to The Astronaut Hall of Fame. Here is the G-force simulator. John rode in it.
He didn’t read the part that said don’t ride if you get motion sickness. He almost lost it. They even had sick bags in it. A cool model of the earth with the space shuttle.
John and Suep on mars. A rock from mars for touching. We also touch a rock from the moon at the Space Center.
The Ron Jon surf shop at Cocoa Beach. It is right next door to the surfing museum. The museum was closed by the time we got there. I saw this support Florida sign and I remember that I once had a T-shirt that had the same scene on it, except the figure was holding skis and it said Endless Winter. I got it at A Basin the year they were open until August.
It was not a good beach day, cold, foggy and rainy.
