We said good bye to Florida and headed into Georgia. We are only a couple miles into Georgia, but so far it looks the same. St Marys is right by the Kings River naval base which is home to trident missile nuclear submarines. We are at Crooked River State park on the Crooked River where it runs into the Atlantic ocean. We took off for a bike ride and checked out the park. Pretty nice.

Painted turtle in the Visitors center, the bus at Crooked River State Park-we even have our own azalea bush in the campsite
dogwoods, pretty dry here, the lake is empty-duh-no fish
the bus from the back of the campsite, and our view
The next day we went into St Marys. Small cute town. We went to the submarine museum. Here is John driving a trident sub.
trident sub parking and a model of the Nautilus from Jules Vern's 20 thousand leagues under the sea.
a model of the tri dent subs inside and out and an old sail boat
sign in a bar door, ruins of an old sugar mill
doorways in the sugar mill
The mill is made out of ‘tabby’ which is sand, lime and oyster shells. To the left is a close up. And another doorway.
Spring is springing, violet, fetterbush
St Johns Wort , fern fiddleheads
