April 11-14, 2021 Shoshone, California

91 degrees today and sunny. John went for a hike. I had 2 zoom meetings.

Beautiful clouds today. Sunset was lovely. Looks like a guy blowing a kiss.

Sunset was evil eyes. Monday night we went to a great dinner at the Crowbar honoring John for all of his work in restoring the mammoth exhibit at the Shoshone Museum. Toni, Roger, John, Me, Mary, Amy, John , Carla and Susan.

The guest of honor John. Toni and Roger.

Sunset from the Crowbar. Our friend Mac, Rod and Judy are visiting from the bay area. They are staying in the Bunkhouse, which is right behind where we are. It is the most luxurious place in Shoshone to stay. We have been having dinner on the porch each night.

Mac in the lovely kitchen. Sorry Mac, she didn't know she had a cowlick in this photo. I finished this basket tonight. It is so out of the box for me. I used local materials, authentic palm sheath, reeds that grow here and dyed pine needles. The reeds are really hard to work with, they do not want to bend.  I never make cutesy heart shaped baskets, but this is what this wanted to be. It is 11 1/2 x 9 x 3 inches.

The palm sheath has a rounded bottom so I added bead feet to it and I added a lady bug to the small indent in the point of the heart. Robbie came by with Lilly and Willie for their treats.

We were treated to the Lilly get that gopher show. She is so cute and she was relentless going after the gopher.

Sunset from the Bunkhouse porch.
