March 28-April 3, 2021 Shoshone, California

81 degrees today and sunny. It was windy in the am, but nice in the afternoon, if not a bit too hot.

Full moon rising last night. My star finder app on my phone showed the full moon rising in Virgo, in Virgo's head actually.

I finished this masterpiece. It is 11 x 11 x 1 3/4 inches. I made the the fused glass center, natural and dyed pine needles, glass beads and polyester thread. The glass is fused to a clear background so you see whatever is behind it.

It was only 90 and sunny, bit windy. Judy D and I finished up painting the lattice on my sister Judy's house today. We painted the last coat on the white yesterday, today we touched up the blue and painted a coat on the blue. Looks good. Judy D was digging around her garden and found something imbedded there. We thought maybe it was a bomb, I had found an unexploded shell in the yard across the street. Robbie came by to dig it out. We stood back. He said it was a bonding rod- used to ground the house electricity, then grabbed the sledge hammer and pounded it down. we still thought it was a bomb and I was going to get a photo of Robbie exploding. .

My current masterpiece. The base is a ceramic pot my friend Susan made for me. My original plan included a bunch of beads, but they didn't work out so just sort of kept making rows with no plan, then the basket sort of started designing itself. They do that. It is 11 x 11 x 5 inches so far. The dyed needles are red wine. I kind of invented the color by accidently pouring red and wine dyes together. The neighbor boys came over and were scavenging my dropped  bits . The 5 yr old was all excited to make art with a piece of string, a rubber band and some needles. I thought, how cute, no adults would be excited about those simple things. Then I realized I was making art with string and needles.

Robbie and the dogs came by for their nightly treats, the boys jumped in, wanted to drive and we gave the dogs biscuits. It's that time of year, taxes. Looks like we are getting a return! Thank heavens John does them, I hate doing taxes.

My sister Judy arrived this afternoon. We had dinner on the patio. Her daughter Jill has a zoom dinner with her every Thursday, so she joined us on zoom. Today is Judy's birthday, so we had cake.

Robbie and the dogs stopped by to welcome Judy back. I made Judy this lovely basket for her birthday--she thought it was a hat!

Sunset tonight. Friday night we went to Tecopa and listened to Christie story telling. It was 90 degrees, we arrived early to get some shade and were the only ones there. We ordered dinner of the Bistros  huge order of  fabulous fries. Afterwards we listened to Paul Barnes live music.

It was 94 degrees today, sunny and a slight breeze. I worked on my basket in my lawn chair in the shade. It is coming along. Getting much bigger than I had intended. It is 9 inches in diameter and 6 1/2 tall so far.  Sunset tonight.

We had dinner on the patio. It was only 81 degrees and quiet pleasant.
