April 18-24, 2021, Shoshone, California

85 degrees today with wind gusts to 40 mph and sunny.

We were exhausted after all the social activity. I laid on the  couch and read and finished this basket. It is 5 1/2 x 3 inches. The center is a piece of dichroic glass I fused. Made with dyed pine needles, glass beads and polyester thread.

Beautiful historic downtown Shoshone, Calif. tonight. The boys were badgering me for some beads. So I told them if they sorted these they could take 3 of each color. Kept them busy for awhile. They will finish another day and claim their beads.

Current masterpiece is looking good. It is now 7 x 7 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches. Glass beads, dichroic glass center I made and natural and dyed pine needles. Sunset tonight. it was 86 and sunny today.

We went on a petroglyph hike in Death Valley. This is the other side of that same rock.

Judy and John along the trail. Some pictographs we saw today.

More pictographs. Cool rocks.

Mojave asters. About the only flowers we saw today. More petroglyphs.

The view of Death Valley from Dante's view. Badwater is directly below us, it is a very, very steep cliff.  I was a little leery of going into this bathroom, but there were no bees today. Phew.

I finished this basket yesterday. It is made with natural and dyed pine needles, glass beads and polyester thread. The center is a fused dichroic glass piece I made from three pairs of my glass earrings that did not sell. 9 x 8 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches.

We had Toni and Roger over for dinner on our patio. Also Judy D. After dinner we went to Tecopa and listened to the Kern River band. Great time.

Sunset tonight. It was 89 degrees with sustained winds from 20-30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. And blowing dust. We hunkered down inside with AC.
