October 4, 2022 Wolford Recreation Area, Colorado

High in the 60's, partly cloudy and rainy.

Driving up Poudre Canyon through the Cameron Fire burn. We wanted to camper farther up the canyon, but the rest of the campgrounds were closed. This is Noku Crags at Cameron pass.

Beautiful aspen trees along the drive.

Turning onto highway 40 at the Continental Divide. We found Wolford Recreation area campground open. We stayed here 8 years ago and my memory is it was a huge gravel parking long lot with campsites that had tables and power and that was it. The marina is new, but the rest of the campground still has colorful foliage and table shelters.

The campground in evening light.

Huge thunderhead just south of us. The bus in our camp spot at Wolford Recreation area.  The shelter is actually in another spot, but no one is there. We are on the edge of the campground and have a wonderful view of the lake

Our view toward Wolford mountain.

Sunset happened nicely during dinner.
