March 28-31, 2018 Seminole Lake,Georgia

We drove farther south, back into Georgia and found 81 degrees and sunny.

Beautiful historic Eufaula, Alabama is know for it's antebellum houses. And today, blooming azaleas. Welcome to Georgia. We are back in Pecan (pronounced pee-can down here), also peanut and cotton. Georgia/Alabama State line is at the Chattahoochee river. Look Jimmy Buffet opened an oriental restaurant in Donelson, Georgia. Eufaula is the Big Bass Capital of the world. Warwick is the home of the Grits Festival. We drove though Warwick on the way up, but finally found a photo of the sign.

I have seen lots of trucks fitted out as fishing vehicles, but these are the first personal water craft  fishing vessels I have seen. The bus at Seminole Lake State Park, Georgia. Just to the left of the bus, behind the bushes is the lake.

This is the tree houses you can rent to camp in. It is an elevated screen house. Sleeps 15.  We found trees with green leaves on them again, a view from out campsite.

Sunset from out campsite. Today was partly cloudy and 81. Very nice. I took my boat out onto the lake. Here is camp from the lake. The campers are behind the cattails.

The lily pads were very pretty. I woke up to this green tree frog on the bedroom window. The first is a picture of him outside on the window reflected in the mirror finish the second is what he looked like inside.

We went to scenic, downtown Donalsonville, Georgia to go to Piggly Wiggly for some groceries. Scenic downtown and the court house.

We we got back we hiked around on the trails in the park. John in the pines. In Donalsonville we went to Mr Ed's liquer store also, purple verbena by the roadside, the Georgia state reptile is the gopher tortoise. Yellow coreopsis.
White flowers, yellow flower, sunflower and fragrant water lily.

We changed campsites today because the power pedestal was not functioning properly at the old site. We we are right on the lake. John hiking in the sunshine and trees today. It was 78, sunny and a bit windy.

This boardwalk is part of the trail. I love the shadows.

Lily pads from the boardwalk. After dinner I decided to go on a dusk paddle on the lake. My favorite time a day to paddle. The water is calm and the colors are fantastic.

The campground from the lake at dusk. And sunset.

Two photos of blue eyed grass and ferns. I finished the basket today. It has a limpet shell center and glass beads. It is 10 wide and 2 inches tall. It did not come out as I envisioned. What else is new? I think it is kind of funky.
Full blue moon rise over the lake. I took this with my phone, it does not have a very good camera.

March 26-27, 2018 Bluff Creek Campground, Pittsview, Alabama

We want to visit a Georgia state park that has no camping, so the closest place we can camp is in Alabama. We changed into the central time zone when we crossed the state line, Weds we will go back to Georgia and the eastern time zone.

I barely caught the Welcome to Alabama sign, it is through the screen on the door. Fisherman parking only. So if you are one of those anti worm drowning 'fish have feelings' animal rights, fanatical polyester wearing types, don't even friggin' think about parking here--sign in the campground. Two winged silver bells flowering with spanish moss in the background. The bus is now parked at Bluff Creek Campground, near Pittsview, Alabama. We are camped right on the lake. The campsites are huge. It must be spring break, there are lots of families with kids here. It is in the 50's, cloudy and misty. It is gray and it sucked all the color away.

We came to this area to see Providence Canyon State Park. It was man made by erosion. the homesteaders cleared the land to grow crops and the loggers cleared the rest of the trees. The farmers plowed their fields up and down the contours instead of around and the water ran off and made this lovely canyon. John walking in the main canyon.

More views from the side canyons.

A view up with rhododendrons. Rhododendrons and three photos of the iridescent water caused by the plant oils. One with my shadow.

Views looking down into the canyon from the rim of the canyon on the loop trail.

More beautiful formations from the rim.

Another view from the rim and the Methodist Church. It was built near the rim of the canyon, but as it eroded more it had to be moved to the other side of the cemetery.  Not sure what they will do when it erodes to the cemetery.

Azaleas on the rim, yellow clover, wisteria, cross vine flowers, field of yellow clover, vetch, and seen on a gravestone in the cemetery. Danger do not climb on the fence line, and eroded fence line, Warning this trail is not recommended for person with heart problems or poor physical conditions!, down the road is Hatchechubbee creek park, bunny at the brewery, red buckeye and spring green maple leaves under the spanish moss.

On the way back we found the Omaha, Georgia Brewery. signs, John with his Loopy Doopy IPA , and standing with Alligator man. Sunset from camp.

March 25, 2018 Newnan, Georgia

In the 70's and partly cloudy.

Up before sunrise to go hiking. John and Pat on the Pine Mountain trail in rhododendrons.

John climbing a staircase of roots. John and I in front of Csonka falls.

Water and greenery. John and Pat in a rhododendron tunnel.

The trail was nicely maintained with new bridges. Pat and John on the far one. Slippery rock falls.

John crossing the creek and with twisty rhododendrons. John and Pat having lunch at Cascade Falls while Mae looks hungrily at them.

John and Sue at Cascade falls. Hugging my honey. John and Pat on the trail back.

Wisteria were hanging from the trees, a budding bush and azaleas.  Sessile bellwort, a mossy rock with tree roots wrapped around it, Ferney, the big loblolly pine- it is between 3-4 feet in diameter, and blue dogbane.

Violet wood sorrel, and two pictures of bird's foot violet-they are 1 1/2 inches.  Two wild iris and a field of wild iris, dogwood like a floating cloud and sweet shrub.

Potato dandelion, fire pink, acres and acres of small long leaf pines, they have the longest needles, these are from my hand to my elbow long.  A penguin on top of a water tower that says visit my 10,000 pals at the Georgia Aquarium, Brandi getting the sales talk on CBD a marijuana derivative and the skyline of down town Atlanta.

Pat and Brandi took us to the Vortex- serving beers and burgers since 1992, the best burgers in town. It is an idiot free zone, be nice or get lost. Great ambiance and food. Pat and Brandi inside. Little Five Points in Atlanta is a funky fun place.  We also went to the Yacht club, another of their favorite hangouts and got a tour of the beautiful old homes downtown.
