May 30-31, 2022 Philomath to Monmouth , Oregon

High of 60. Party sunny, partly rain.

Goodbye Oregon Motor Coach Center. Thanks for all the repairs and excellent service. We are now parked at Cardwell Hill vineyards.

Cool barn on our walk, in the rain. Cardwell Hill Cellars and some flowers in the 'lawn'.

More flowers on the property. Katrina served our wine tasting. They have very good wine. We bought a bottle of blush rose, but had two glasses of the Pinot Gris Reserve, which was excellent. It was $40 a bottle. So we just had a glass.

View from the deck outside the tasting room. John sitting in the sun with our glass of reserve.

Rain in the vineyards. The masterpiece is coming along. Very colorful.

The tasting room, deck and our bus tucked in behind. Today we are at Emerson Vineyards parked behind the tasting room.

Alex is pouring our tasting. The masterpiece is getting close to done, at least with the stitching. I still need to work on the beads. I love how it is kind of off center. It is 9 1/2 x 3 inches at this point.

A wild vineyard with poppies. We had dinner over looking the vineyards. It was 72 and sunny today.

Oak trees and a pond.

Field of wheat as you drive into the vineyard. Poppies, oak leaves, wine barrels and wheat.

May 26-29, 2022 Eugene

78 and partly sunny. We went kayaking on the Willamette river. Beautiful day to be out on the river. Near the end I hurt my back so that it is hard to walk or move probably not used paddling yet. I am waiting for it to calm down. I got water on my lens, so most of these photos are blurry.

Kim and Karen paddle boarding. Leslie kayaking and Kim paddle boarding.

Blurry shot of a little riffle. Leslie, John and Karen gliding down the river.

John in a riffle and smiling for the camera.

Leslie and Karen on the other side of an island. John surfing a wave.

Rest stop by some cool rocks.

Kim nearing take out. Karen and I waiting with the boats for our rides.

Sunset Thursday night. I am still waiting for my back to calm down. Still hurts to move much. Josh and Glen replacing the awning strap. The wind caught the awning and the strap ripped off. This is the last thing we were waiting for so we are now done! We will spend the weekend at the RV repair place since it is too late to get a campsite on this holiday weekend.

Sunset Friday  night. 62windy and rainy. I am still down with a injured back. A blue jay hopping around outside the bus.

For our grand outing today we drove across the parking lot in the rain and wind, did a dump and fill and drove back to our parking spot. John prepared this delicious chicken pesto soup for dinner and served with with some home made whole grain bread I had made. Yum, yum.

The masterpiece is coming along. There will be more beads in the upper window with the white bead, it is just keeping it open right now. It is about 8 inches in diameter now.

May 20-23, 2022 Eugene, Oregon

62 degrees, partly cloudy to sunny in the afternoon. The bus is almost done. One more part which will come in on Tues. I don't have to get up at 630 am anymore!!

Cute puppy named Rainy in the waiting room today. Very sweet and friendly. The current masterpiece in progress is getting close to being done. The center is a piece of dichroic glass I fused. It is stitched with copper and gold metallic thread. It is about 6 inches in diameter now. The pine needles are dyed black.

Latest completed masterpiece. It has a crystal on the front. The dyed needles are not as bright indoors. It is 5 1/2 x 2 3/4 inches. The center is a piece of dichroic glass I beveled and polished.

Close up of the dichroic center I fused,  beveled and polished. $5.45 diesel, we put 49 gallons into our tank, plus filled the car with gas. We hope to be done here this week and head out.

My new hiking boots came in today at REI. They are wonderful. My old boots were in pretty bad shape, I had sewn up the blown seam on the front side and it is starting to come out. They are still waterproof tho. The new ones are wider and hopefully won't blow out on me later.

It was 70n today and mostly sunny. We had dinner outside this evening watching sunset.

I sat on the top of the bus to photograph sunset. The view of the other coaches in the parking lot, plus our solar panels on top. I finished this master piece. Dyed pine needles, glass beads and the center is a piece of dichroic glass I fused. It is 6 x 2 1/2 inches.

Side view. Busy morning at the bus. Josh and John watching the water heater drain, Josh working on the water heater inside, the water heater outside and inside, John fixing the cruise control in the 'smart steering wheel'. The water heater can run on either electric or propane. It would be fixed, then now work, replace another part, fixed, then not, a whole cascade of  parts and finally the propane works and a part for the electric is on order. We are now waiting for the water heater part, a strap for one of the awnings and a hinge for a cupboard door. Then with luck we will be done.

I started this basket during the work. We went for a hike with Scott and Leslie in the afternoon. Field of camas. It was 75 and sunny.

Field of camas in front of a farm house. John, Scott, Leslie and Rhody on the beginning of the trail.

The Coastal Fork of the Willamette river.  Rhody, Leslie, Scott and John enjoying the sun by the river.

John and Scott on the trail.  Waist deep green grass.

Sunflower, Testing the waterproofness of my new boots, they passed, bigfoot skeleton across the river from us, and a gopher snake. And some wild clouds we saw.  Scott and John on the trail ahead of us in a huge meadow.

John and Scott having happy hour in Leslie and Scotts backyard. Sunset was an orange glow tonight.
