May 7, 2022 Cape Arago, Oregon

High of 53 and amazing sunny with some rain showers.

We hiked 4 miles today, mostly along the cliff top and watched waves. Looking down on one of the many coves. The lighthouse in the distance.

John walking gingerly across the slick moss rocks in Norton Gulch. Norton Gulch.

Small waterfall in Norton Gulch. The only tide pool mollusks we saw, snails and a chiton. Some of the flowers along the trail.

Looking down on Norton Gulch. John trying to not get mud on his feet in one of the many mud holes  on the trail. I on the other hand have water proof boots, so I just walked through. I always like playing in the mud.

John on the trail. A very large tree.

Huge waves. The waves bouncing off all the rocks, running into each other and the incoming waves made these monstrous hay stacks.

Reflections. John had to put on his rain coat here, he was getting wet from the waves. The cliff we are on is at least 50 feet plus high.

Big wave. I can feel the energy watching the waves build, then slam into the rocks. Cool rocks and wave.

More cool rocks and waves.

Waves racing into a cove. Beautiful colors and textures.

John on the trail on the way back. The cliff and tree on the right are why you don't stand on the edges of these cliffs, they are all undercut.

Salmon flower and berry, campanula and a twisted tree. John heading into the deep dark forest after crossing the flower filled meadow.

I walked along the beach at the campground after dinner for sunset. Some seagulls that got spooked when I walked by. Sunset.
