May 2, 2022 Cape Blanco, Oregon

High of 53, rainy and windy. Damp and cold.

We got fuel in Brooking at Fred Meyer, a Kroger grocery store.  With the Kroger card, with 20 cents off per gallon it was $5,69 for the first 35 gallons, then $5.89 for the last 6. $238.68 for almost 42 gallons. Much better than California, but still high. Gold Beach. Lots of rain and fog.

Pistol Beach, no rain here. Then rain again.

The bus at Cape Blanco State park. First time in an actual park for awhile. Very nice, lots of room, privacy and greenery. I love that the lawns on the coast have all these little white aster flowers.

The ferns are unfurling, yellow buttercups, and yellow skunk cabbage flowers. The campground is on the edge of the cliff above the ocean, looking down at the beach. The tide is just past high, so there is now beach.

Thick foliage on the trail along the cliff above the ocean. Can you see John in his rain forest camo?

Looking down at the ocean from the cliff, from the picnic area. John walking into the deep dark forest on the road down toward the beach.

The deep dark forest is Sitka spruce trees, very, big and it is very dark underneath. Ferns.

John coming up from the beach. It is rainy, in the low 50's and very windy on the beach, plus the tide is high so not much beach.  Looking down on the beach with the HUGE logs. You do not want to be on the beach with the ocean throwing around this big logs.

A green moss wall along the road back up from the beach. Can you see John in his rainforest camo jacket?
