70 + today. It started out cloudy, but cleared up by afternoon. We did two hikes, both to petroglyph panels,

This is a flat pool of water but the shadows and rock lines make it look like a vortex. When it rains the water runs down the rock with little waterfalls into these potholes.
The Big Crane panel was our first stop, It is pretty awesome. It is in the bottom half of the red wall above John.

Interesting color on the slickrock. Square bodied sheep petroglyphs, interesting guy petroglyph and yellow lichen on the rock. Fall color on Butler Wash. This hike had been 1.8 miles with about 250 feet of elevation.
Cool mares tails clouds over the red rocks. For our second hike we drove up the road, crossed Butler wash a second time. John is hiking up the slickrock next to stairstep potholes formed from the water running down here when it rains.

Here is a closer up of the left side of the panel. All those little hash marks are lines of people.
The right side of the panel. The line of little people goes around the corner of the rock. These are more square bodied animals, these are deer. John walking on the slickrock on the way back.
Slick rock, fall colors and red rocks. Not all slickrock is flat, much of it has bumps and layers. John is the tiny figure walking off the edge of the slick rock on the left side. This hike was 3 miles and 800 vertical.
This slickrock is brain like. Yellow flowers in a yucca, blue juniper berries, red sumac leaves, small yellow flowers, blooming and gone to seed rabbit bush and a heart shaped hole in the rock.
