September 17-20, 2022 Fort Collins

High of 80 and sunny today. It was lovely.

I went to our annual luncheon with my friends I worked with  in the 80's. Me, Nancy, Kay and Carol. We met at Carols house and she prepared BLT's with fresh tomatoes she picked off her tomato plant in her beautiful garden. It was yummy and great to see them.

Carol is a famous artist. Her the walls in her lovely home are covered with her work. The bottom shot is her studio with more stunning paintings.

Sunset as we ate dinner on the deck.

It was so pretty out I went out biking. This is the diversion dam on the Poudre River. The late day sun came through the window and lighted up my masterpieces.

Sunset tonight. I decided to try riding my bike over the roots along the trail. I could see tracks where everyone else does. Of course I crashed. I landed on my face, on my right eye. My sunglasses and helmet saved me from bad injuries, but I will have a big black eye tomorrow I think.

I went up to Summit County and did a fun hike with my friend Rosie at Old Dillion Reservoir. The aspens were turning and it was a lovely day. Great to see Rosie.

View of Red Mountain with aspens. The first tomato on my early girl this year. I planted late, June 29. Flowers from our hike, asters, sunflower, white sunflowers, blue flax, yarrow and bee balm.

Red aspens. Lupine, bee balm, sky rockets and kissing aspen trees.

Golden aspens. Rosie and I on our hike.

September 9-15, Fort Collins, Colorado

Cold and Rainy the last couple days.

John took advantage of the cool weather to fix one of the front steps. I am going to comb this glass tomorrow. It is wafting in my kiln overnight. It is about 8 x 8 inches.

Me combing glass in my kiln at 1,650 degrees with my fire resistant coat, wielders glasses, face shield, zetex gloves good to 2,000 degrees. I am using special stainless steel combing rods that John made for me.  In the foreground is a piece of glass I combed in my class at the glass expo in Vegas. I am trying to make something like it now. Combing glass in my kiln at 1650 degrees.

This is what it looks like combed at 1650 degrees. Will have to wait till sometime tomorrow when the kiln is cool to take it out and look at it. This is how the combing piece came out this morning. Not quite what I had expected, but not bad. It is now in the kiln again firing to get it to spread out some. Then I will decide what to do with it.

I painted the raven black for this piece. But it is a bit too dark now, you can't see it well with the darker colors behind it, so I will lighten in up some. The sun caught all the jewelry I have been making just right. I am restocking my jewelry supply for the winter.

A couple of sunsets.

75 pendants and 135 pairs of earrings. This should stock me up for the rest of the year. Young men running by in last light on my bike ride.

People fishing at the lake on my bike ride. A big bunch of purple flowers still blooming.

Sunset last night. The masterpiece is now shaped and I will polish the edges and then slump it. It is getting there.

I am also working on some  more beveled polished crescents. These are still in the shaping mode, but will be polished. Theses are only about an inch long. They are real cute, but they are so small that a couple of my fingernails are also getting shaped and polished. . .

Sunset over the water park. Sunset in town.

Another 100 degree day. Katie and Katy came up and we boated on Horsetooth Reservoir. Lunch in the almost shade.
