July 23-27, 2023

Back in the high 90's. Boo. I got up really early and went with John on his walk before it got hot. It was lovely.

Poudre River on our walk.

Side stream to the river. Wildflowers along the trail.

One of the North Shields ponds. Lilies from my garden, tomatoes already and wild flowers from our walk. And a small frog we saw.

North Shields Ponds. A group of cows hanging out in the shade in the water in a private lake.

Lily pads on the private lake. John on the trail this morning.

Reflections on the river. A bunny who thinks I can't see him because he is not moving.

Sunset. There was a big thunderstorm with the sun out, was very pretty.

The rain stopped so I headed out on my bike. It was only a lull, it started again just as I got away from the house. Rainbow on the sidewalk. Rainbow over the park.

Other end of the rainbow. The farther north I went the less rain there was. Some invasive knap weed.

Clearing skies. The huge storm heading east.

A couple of sunset photos.

July 8-16, 2023 Fort Collins, Colorado

Hot. In the high 80's to high 90's. Been hanging out inside most of the day. John gets up early and walks 5 miles and I go biking after dinner when it is cooler.

Sunflowers along the bike path. Sunset from the deck.

Nice light on the bike path. I was taking a photo of the nice light on the bike path and this deer walked into the photo.

Purple prairie clover. McMurry pond.

Sunset while biking. I made a few pendants with some of my brother's ashes for family members.

It rained cats and dogs. We got about an inch of rain in less than an hour.  I ordered a memory foam mattress topper for the bed. I love the instructions that say to wait 48-72 hours for bounce!

I was going to put a few of my brothers ashes under at stepping stone he made in elementary school in my back yard. Then I worried that the renters dog would dig them up. So I decided to make a sealed glass box for them. But now that I am making the box it is so pretty I don't want to bury it. I may just keep in inside. Sunset.

July 4-7, 2023 Fort Collins, Colorado

High of 81, sunny, then very rainy.

We walked to the bus that is supposed to take us to City Park to watch the fireworks. But they evacuated the park because of lightening and the bus was not running. So we walked back to the house, in the heavy rain and got the car. Happy 4th! We were headed to our friends Clair and Dave's house for a before firework party. It was fun to see them and we had a great dinner.

Clair and Dave live right on City Park so after dinner we walked over and watched the fireworks over the lake. It was awesome. Wednesday I went down to Denver for the glass show. It is called Jus' Sayin'- Idioms in Glass. We had to turn American saying into glass. It is a really cute show, lots of creativity and beautiful work.

How many glass artist does it take to hang a piece of glass?

It is a huge show, 99 pieces. Took all day of hard work to get it set up, but it looks great.

My entries. Right as Rain (this is a rain drop), Give it a Whirl.

Thrown a curve, Once in a Blue Moon.

Thinking outside the box. Bear Arms.

It is always darkest right before dawn.  We had a good crowd for First Friday and opening reception of the glass show

I an happy to have sold this piece tonight at the show tonight. Casa Bonita is open again. I would love to go. You have to make advance reservation. They say they have good food now, but it is much more expensive.

A small snippet of sunset tonight. To the west were dark rain clouds.
