70 degrees today and sunny. It was glorious.
Crystal River with a back drop of Mt Sopris from my bike ride today. I am getting close to finishing the rainbow basket. Just need to add beads around the rainbow center I fused. It is 6 x 2 inches. Made with natural and dyed pine needles, glass beads and rainbow polyester thread. I am liking it.
It is finished!
We left Carbondale this morning for Grand Junction and stayed below the snowline.
We crossed the Colorado river. It was muddy from the rain we got last night. Snowing on Grand Mesa above Grand Junction and us.
Grand Junction. Out camp spot at Island Acres State Park.
View to the west over the lake. View to the east over the campground.
Afternoon light on the mesas. Rabbit bush and asters still blooming.
Sunset over the lake. The entrance to the canyon for the road up Grand Mesa.
The town of Mesa under Powderhorn Ski area. We visited our friend John S who is building a very nice house above Mesa. He started it in April and is mostly done now. John M and John S chatting in the back.
They built the garage first. John in the driveway. After viewing the house John S treated us to lunch in Colburn. Nice to see him, his friend and son and the new house.
A curve in the road on the way back. A curve in the fence.
Pretty close to done on this masterpiece now. The center is a piece of dichroic glass I fused. It has 3 different shades of blue dyed needles and purple needles. What a difference the sun shine makes on our campsite.
Foliage in the campground. The autumn leaves in last light over the lake.
Cottonwoods reflected in the lake. There were not many clouds tonight, so sunset was subdued.
