January 29-31, 2025 Cattail Cove, Lake Havasu to Davis Camp, Bullhead City, Arizona

 64 and sunny.

We went on a little hike on the trails here in the park.  John on the trail. Wylie's Rest campsite. You can boat or walk to it. Has a nice beach.

Cool side canyon on the way back.  John on the trail along the lake back to camp.

Faux arch.

Another cool side canyon. John on the trail right above camp.

Sunset in the campground. High of 67, sunny and no wind. We paddled on the lake again. The water is totally smooth.

John ahead of me. I love the color of this lake. Cattails at the end of a channel I paddled.

Heading back out of the channel. John patiently waiting for me.

Heading back. We had dinner at the College Street Brewery in Lake Havasu. John with his IPA.

We went into California, then back into Arizona. Fuel was cheaper in Az, so we filled up with $3.25 a gallon. The beach campsites on the Colorado River at Davis Camp in Bullhead City, Az.

The bus from the beach. Sunset from camp.

January 27-28, 2024 Cattail Cove, Lake Havasu, Arizona

High of 60 and mostly sunny.

We woke up this morning to a rain shower. When the sun came out the colors were pretty. We are now camped at Cattail Cove State Park on Lake Havasu.

The swim beach at Cattail Cove on Lake Havasu.

Our site. The campground is very wooded.

Quail. I finished this basket. It is made from dyed pine needles, polyester thread, gem chips and the center is a piece of selenite that I sandblasted and painted. It is 6 x 5 x 2  inches.

Sunset on the beach.

60 and sunny. John kayaking on Lake Havasu. The campground from the lake.

John ahead with beautiful water. Looking toward the cliff. The water was smooth.

Coming out of an inlet. Red cliffs, blue green water.

Coot. Dinner outside at sunset.

Sunset over the dog beach. Sunset from the bench on the cliff trail.

January 19-26, 2025 Quartzsite, Arizona

 65 and sunny.

To get to a spot in the BLM dispersed camping outside of Quartzsite there are a lot of dirt roads.  Look at the dust on the truck. John just washed it too. . . The bus parked in the BLM dispersed camping outside of Quartzsite. We are having happy hour in the sunset light.

Quartzsite is miles and miles of booths, it's like a giant garage sale. You never know what you will find. John's favorite part of Quartzsite is the Adult Day care and Beer Belly's. I shop, he goes to Beer Belly's and waits.

Sunset looking west, into the blowing dust. Sunset looking east at our rig.

Desert art seen while biking. Sunset tonight.

An ultra light flying around over the campground. Saguaro in pre sunset.

Of course most of the cool clouds dissipated before actual sunset. But still pretty.  There are a lot of campers in this dispersed camping area, but we kind of have our own space. Quiet and  dark. The stars are wonderful.

Sunset. BLM free dispersed camping on Plomosa Rd north of Quartzsite.

BLM free dispersed camping on Plomosa Rd north of Quartzsite. Head of the dragon sunset.

Body of the dragon sunset. Outside Plomosa BLM free dispersed camping. The light line is a road crossing the desert pavement.

Outside Plomosa BLM free dispersed camping. John cutting through some bushes on our afternoon walk.

This loggerhead shrike posed for me while I was setting the table outside for dinner at sunset. Sunset.
